Youthful, glowing skin

Today, I am going to teach you how to make a couple of (basic) exfoliators for different skin types that bring a beautiful, healthy glow to your skin – and consequently make you look younger and fresher. Our main ingredients are brown sugar and oil (either virgin olive oil or coconut oil.  Unlike white sugar, brown does not damage the skin and is packed with antioxidants and AHA (alpha hydroxyl acid) to regenerate and rejuvenate it.  Virgin olive oil is a brilliant source of Vit A and E and restores natural moisture. (Think older, dryer skin types). Coconut oil is naturally antibacterial, antifungal and penetrates well. (Think, problematic, acne skin types). Add to above a few pure essential oils – In this case, Rose, Geranium, Frankincense, Lavender, and we have an exfoliator that would cost loads if we could buy it.

You will need to invest in a face brush to massage the scrub into your face and neck (light outward circular movements). This will only cost a few pounds. You can buy one in any big pharmacy.

EXFOLIATOR No.1 for Dryer, older skin types.  Ideally twice a week.

Half cup brown sugar (I use demerara, which is too gritty for some)

1-2 tbs virgin olive oil

2 drops each Rose oil, Geranium oil and Frankincense oil.

2 tsps honey

HOW TO:  Pour olive oil into sugar, stir and leave for one hour for oil to penetrate sugar.  Should there be a residue of oil after one hour, drain off. (You’ll get used to adjusting your recipes with experience). Mix in 2 tsps honey and 3 essential oils.  Apply to face and neck with clean fingers then massage face and neck well with face brush before rinsing off with warm water.

EXFOLIATOR No. 2 for problematic, oily skin.  Ideally twice a week.

Half cup brown sugar.

Half cup solidified coconut oil.

6 drops lemon juice.

4 drops essential Lavender oil.

HOW TO: Beat sugar into solidified coconut oil, add lemon juice, Lavender oil and mix.  Apply to face and neck with clean fingers then massage face/neck with face brush before rinsing off with warm water.

Do either of above twice a week. Not just one week. Every single week of the year. One of the secrets to youthful skin Is exfoliation. Think about it. If you’re not bringing new blood to the surface, the skin eventually dulls and dies. With regular exfoliation, you Encourage old skin to die to stimulate new cell growth – which is turns gives you the dewy complexion of a rose. I want to hear not One complaint lol in your seventies, so get started now xx
